Beans And Bacon Naturally Go Together

When I was growing up, we ate a lot of beans; in soup, in casseroles, in salads, in side dishes, and anywhere else my Mom could think to add them. I wonder if she managed to hide them in desserts somehow? Anyway, beans were a staple in our house. One way she “fooled” us into eating our beans was to add bacon to the soup or casserole. One of my favorite ways to add bacon is with a Bean and Bacon Bit Soup. If your kids are a little skittish about beans, this is a great recipe to introduce them to the idea of eating beans. The creamy texture, salty and smoky bacon, are usually enjoyed by the little ones. Dad and Mom are nodding their heads, too! I can’t imagine anyone turning their nose up at this warm and wonderful soup!
